He was born on January 5 1937 in the family home in Whitehead Nova Scotia. He began working at an early age first on the tugboats and they took him as far as Bermuda. He spent time in the army with his brother Brad and was an iron worker for many years after travelling west by train. Before retirement he spent 15 years as custodian of Barons School. He was a long time Legion member, hard worker and dependable guy that enjoyed many good times. He had the pleasure of a large extended family and a wide circle of friends. He could always be counted on to lend a hand and had a great sense of humor (Colton said Grandpa knows LOTS of jokes). He told a colorful story and had so very many of them.We will miss everything about him particularly his strength, but know he is in the company of many fabulous family and friends especially his parents Ivory and Evelyn, Uncle Billy, brothers and best friends Donnie (2004), Brad (2013) and his son Russ (December 14, 2014).
