IRENE RUTH MYERS (Moon), of Lethbridge, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Chinook Regional Hospital at the age of 82 years. Irene was born in Grimshaw, Alberta on July 17, 1929. Irene was predeceased by her husband Joe and son Darcy and a grandson Ronnie. She leaves to mourn her passing, son Bernie Myers (Bonnie) and one daughter, Pennie Hengerer, as well as seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Irene and Joe lived and raised their family in Pincher Creek. Irene moved to Lethbridge in 2005 to be closer to her son and daughter. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 52 years and an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary for 35 years. We will all miss her wonderful sense of humour and she had the ability to laugh at herself when things were good or bad. She never judged her family or friends and loved them all unconditionally. We will miss her. Thank you to Dr. Collin Walsh, Dr. David Stewart, as well as the nursing staff at the Chinook Regional Hospital and at Columbia House. You are appreciated more than you know. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In memory of Irene, contributions may be made to the Lung Association, Alberta & NWT, P.O. Box 4500 Station South, Edmonton, Alberta T6E 6K2., or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, PO Box 2211, Lethbridge, AB., T1J 4K7. Honoured to serve the family, CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, Alberta T1K 7B1. Telephone 403-381-7777. E-mail:care@cornerstonefh.ca
