LEONARD K. NEWTON passed away with his family by his side at the Fort Macleod Health Centre on Wednesday, December 6th, 2017, at the age of 61 years.Leonard is survived by his brother Randy and Louise Newton of Osoyoos, BC and their family Heather and Aiden; and Ken, Tyson, Brad and Jillian; his sister Janice Hufnagel of Cochrane, AB and her family Frank and Martha, John and Jamie, Greg, Kate; Pat and David, Parker, Jared; Donna and Kevin, Annalee and Jesse, Dallas. His sister Sharon and George Jagielski of Lethbridge, AB and their family Travis and Shannon, Katie, Alex, Brooke; Joel and Phoebe, Brenden, Anjah, Gaven; Everett and Terrelle.He was predeceased by his parents Ken and Verna Newton; his sister and brother-in-law Helen and Frank Borthwick; his brother-in-law Carl Hufnagel, and an infant brother at birth.Len had a wonderful personality full of the joy of life. He was a compassionate and friendly man who loved his family, his many friends and enjoyed his animal companions. Len loved to laugh, dance and sing. He enjoyed many years participating in horseshoes, swimming and bowling through Special Olympics. He was very proud of his involvement with the LACL, Rehoboth and, most recently, Special Development Unit in Fort Macleod. His love of life and people touched the lives of all who knew him.

The Funeral Service will be held at the OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 - 12 Avenue S., Lethbridge, on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with Deacon Ray Wagner officiating. A time of fellowship & refreshments will follow. Len will be laid to rest at Archmount Memorial Gardens, Lethbridge.

Dear families, I just found out about Leonard's passing. I worked briefly with Leonard in 1993 but I never forgot him. He was such a kind and gentle man with a good sense of humour. He never forgot me either. Whenever we bumped into each other we would catch up a bit on what each other were doing. I will fondly remember him always. Sincerely Trudy

i worked with Leonard as his caregiver and he was such a joy to be around. Leonard, you were an angel here on earth and I'll always remember your kindness, goodness and you taught me so much.

I have so many great memories of Leonard, especially the hours we spent playing "Trivia Pursuit" and hearing his stories about the family farm. I'm sorry I'll miss his celebration of his life, he had a great one.
