After Harm's passing in 1963, Anne moved to Rainier to be closer to her family where she stayed until moving to Lethbridge after the farm was sold.
Anne's love for travel was evident in the number of trips she took in the last 30 years. Her hobbies included reading, knitting, cross-stitch, crossword puzzles and having lunches with friends. She had many friends through sorority, swimming, bowling and church, being a faithful member of Southminster United Church. Her love and pride of her family shone every day in everything she did.

Anneke and Dick, I loved your Mom. I think it happened instantly when I first met her at Balloon Fiesta in 1999. She was a force of nature, full of energy, ready to laugh, and had a heart full of love. I am so glad I got to visit with her in Lethbridge in 2003 and again in 2012. I almost never ended my long phone calls to Anneke without saying, "Give your Mom a hug from me." I understand your immense loss, my Mom was my best friend, too. My heart is with you at this time and always. You have my deepest sympathy and all my love. Penny
Anneka: We pass on our sincere condolences to you and your family. We are very sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. She will be remebered by all who knew her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. May God bless all of you.
Anneke, Our deepest condolences to you and your family. We wish we had the words to ease your pain during this difficult time. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Be comforted by your memories of your mother.
I am deeply saddened to hear of Anne's sudden passing. Anne's big smiles and rib-cracking hugs brightened my days hugely during my time as organist at Southminster, and any time I saw her when I stopped by the church. She was always in the midst of things: helping in the kitchen, decorating the sanctuary, helping during services, ringing in the bell choir; she had the gift of service, and served cheerfully and willingly. I loved her and will miss her terribly, as will so many others. Love and hugs to you, Anneke, and all the family as I am regretfully out of town for the service. God be with you through this difficult time.
