FREDRICK "RICK" OLEKSIAK, of Milk River, beloved husband of Gayle Oleksiak, passed away peacefully at the Milk River Health Centre, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the age of 81 years.
FREDRICK "RICK" OLEKSIAK, of Milk River, beloved husband of Gayle Oleksiak, passed away peacefully at the Milk River Health Centre, on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the age of 81 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his brother in Chicago.
Rick was predeceased by his parents.
Rick was born and raised in Chicago and after graduation, joined the U.S Marines in Los Angeles and remained enlisted for 4 years.
He met Gayle in Los Angeles and they married in 1961. They recently celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
Rick was devoted to education and earned 3 Masters Degrees. The last was his passion in Speech Pathology and he worked in that field in the northern United States and western Canada, mostly in Saskatchewan. Rick and Gayle retired to Medicine Hat, AB. but eventually moved to the quiet community of Milk River where he resided until his passing.
At Rick's request there will be no funeral service. An interment will be held in the Milk River Cemetery in the spring.

A compassionate and well spoken man! In having sold two vehicles to he and Gayle I learned that you can buy Rain-X concentrate to apply to your windows and I think of you both every time I put it on the vehicles. My condolences and a big hug to you Gayle!
