Cam and I discovered each other in 2010 when my mother, Jill Robinson, and I traveled to Lethbridge to uncover family history. Cam and I are third cousins, once removed, through William Stafford (=> Elizabeth Gourley Stafford => Alan Kerr => Margaret Lorimer Kerr => Alan Kerr Robinson => me). Galt Museum introduced Cam to us as THE person to speak to about Lethbridge history and he generously shared a day with us that included a chance to see so many original documents, especially of his mother and her family. And then, gloriously, a tour of the riverbottom, the coulees and the town of Lethbridge in his magnificent convertible. Today, I look through the self-published books that Cam shared with me. In my memory, he will always be a generous giant of a man and the day we spent together, one of the best of my life.
My clients and I delivered Meals on Wheels to Mr. Peat on and off for a few years. He was always nice and always asked how my son's Hockey games went. He would always let my clients pet his cat (baby) and they loved that. Sorry to hear of his passing and condolences to his family.
I was very sad to hear of Cam's passing. I only met him briefly while taking care of his kitty but his personality and kindness are fondly remembered.
Sending prayers to Cam's family at this difficult time! My dad shared a room with him in the hospital last week and was very saddened to hear that he had passed. Keeping you all in our prayers and thoughts! Donald Cook Carol Toth
