JEAN EILEEN PITTMAN (née, PUTZI), of Warner, beloved wife of the late Victor Pittman, passed away peacefully at Park Meadows Good Samaritans in Lethbridge, on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at the age of 91 years.
Left to carry on her rich legacy are: Jim (Eleanor) Pittman of Lethbridge, Elizabeth (Larry) Beyko of Calgary, Teresa (Ian - deceased) Craig of Gillete, Wyoming, Francis Pittman of Warner, Lois (Bruce) Morrison of Nelson, B.C., Morris (Joyce) Pittman of Pincher Creek, Pierre (Elnora) Pittman of Lloydminster, Joanne (Darryl) Zachary of Calgary, and Carolyn (Tim) Scott of Lethbridge; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Rick (Rod) Putzi of Milk River, and many good neighbors and relatives, who will miss her love and support.
Besides her beloved husband Victor in 2005, Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Eleanor Anne in 1997, parents John and Sophie Putzi, brothers Ken (Bev) Putzi, Ralph (Erin) Putzi, and sister Mary (Ken) Lewison.
Born Oct. 30, 1932 on the family farm at McNab, Alberta, Jean attended Warner School. In 1951, she married Victor Pittman. There, Jean and Victor farmed and ranched for 55 years and raised ten children.
Jean was an active member of the Warner community, including the Catholic Women's League, the Library Board, Senior's Centre, Warner Historical Society and as a 4-H parent. While her interests in community were great, her passion was for creating a loving and organized home, farm and family. She was a great baker of pies, breads, buns, fudge and cakes. An avid homemaker, seamstress and quilter, Jean was also a self-taught pianist; she loved to play, teach and listen to music. She supported family gatherings almost every weekend with meals and parties. Jean was also a voracious reader, preferring autobiographies and non-fiction.
Mom was strong, capable, loving, funny, supportive, non-judgmental and her faith in God was solid and inspiring. Her kindness, generosity and selflessness will always be cherished.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to the most wonderful staff members at The Prairie Rose Lodge in Milk River and at Park Meadows Good Samaritans Village in Lethbridge. We appreciate each one of you greatly. Your care was noted and appreciated each day!
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PETER'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 Main Street NW, Milk River, AB, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. with Father Andrew Pyon celebrating.
A private Family Graveside will be held in the Warner Cemetery, where Jean will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Victor.

I was in the same class as Morris. Many of us thought his mom was the nicest mom ever. Always pleasant, would show interest in you and managed all those kids! She was a great lady.
Sending our deepest condolences on the loss of your mom and grandmother. Jean was a lovely lady who was always so nice to visit with. May you all find comfort knowing she rests in peace.
I am very sorry to read on FACEBOOK of the passing of your Mother. I have wonderful memories of visiting her on the farm. One particular funny remembrance was the time I came from Vancouver because it was calving time [ probably March and cold ] and I had never seen a live calf birth. It was a windy day and I went out into the field and yes I did witness a birth! Aunt Jean had a good laugh and thought 'that city gal is crazy'. I still use her sugar cookie recipe ! She had quite the reputation as a fantastic bun baker. I have a lot of fun memories of visiting and talking with Aunt Jean. I know she was a very loved Mother and you kids are all blessed to have had her as your Mom. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend her funeral as much as I would like to. Bill, my husband, is haviing major surgery that day, Nov 22, and of course my place is with him. I assume you girls will be singing various hyms that day; I do wish I could attend. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. I am so sorry for your loss. Dorothy and Bill Werbowski Nov 17 2023
