It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of CHARMAINE SHARON PROUDFOOT (nee Laflamme) on February 15, 2022 in Edmonton, Alberta at the age of 67 years old.
Charmaine is survived by her former husband, Jeffery Proudfoot; her daughter Tiffany Mandryk (Christopher), granddaughter Celeste Mandryk; brother Norman Laflamme (Sri Mintarti); niece Cassidy Laflamme; former sister-in-laws Colleen Proudfoot, Sharee Proudfoot (Gerry Diakow), and Joan Proudfoot; former nephews and niece Hector Diakow (Andrea), Brandon Diakow (Anastasia) and Rachel Diakow (Joel Smith); as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins especially her cousins: Terri Hrkac, Susan Bukovy (Brian), and Nancy Carleton (Mark).
She was predeceased by her wonderful son Matthew Proudfoot, her parents, step-father Real Laflamme, former brother-in-law Garry Proudfoot and former in-laws Colin and Judith Proudfoot.
Charmaine was born in Toronto, Ontario on July 15, 1954. She moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario as a young child to be closer to family, then later moved to Dryden, Ontario in 1965. She graduated from high school in Dryden and then moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where she got a job with the Royal Bank. She worked there for a few years, then moved to the Lower Mainland, BC with Jeff. They were married in 1977 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. They then moved to Creston, B.C. in 1978 after purchasing their first business, the Kokanee Inn. They grew that business, and their daughter Tiffany was born there in 1980. In 1982, they sold the Kokanee Inn and purchased the Lethbridge Hotel and Jessie's Bar and moved to Lethbridge, Alberta. They grew that business with Jeff working as the hotel manager and Charmaine working as bar manager for many years until Charmaine was able to stay home with her young family. Their son Matthew was born in Lethbridge in 1983. They sold the hotel in 2000, which allowed for them to enjoy a semi-retirement life with winters spent at their home in Arizona, and summers at home in Lethbridge. In 2016, Charmaine decided to move to Edmonton to be closer to her daughter and other family.
Charmaine was a lover of books, cooking for family and friends, travel, golfing, and hosting friends and family. She loved supporting her children in all their school and extra-curricular activities, including hockey and Girl Guides.

Tiff, I'm thinking of you today and sorry that we are missing the service but will be watching from the sunshine in Arizona. I have good memories of your mom serving Simply Soda and cupboard chips
Charmaine was a great golf companion. She could hit the ball and carry on a conversation at the same time with no hesitation. My kind of golfer. I enjoyed her company as did many others, and our world is a much sadder place without her.
Condolences to the family
I enjoyed many visits with Charmaine over at Chris'(my son) and Tiffany's home. Charmaine always cooked up terrific side dishes. She was so easy to talk with, especially when it came to our beloved granddaughter. Charmaine loved Celeste very much. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tiffany, Chris, Jeff and Celeste.
