Dear Lonnie & Family, My heart goes out to all of you on your loss. May your memories of your son, brother & friend bring comfort to you in the days ahead. Thoughts & prayers Katie Ainscough
Lonnie, Kelly, Kyle, and Carter: My thoughts are with your family. Even though you probably don't know who I am, Garrett had a profound impact on my life and I feel so lucky to have gotten to know him and call him my friend. He was the type of person who was truly the definition of kind, and I do not use that word lightly. He had an ability to look past people's faults and find their strengths and just bring out the beauty in life in general. I'm not that way, it doesn't come naturally to me in any way, shape or form. Being around Garrett opened up a whole new way of seeing the world to me. There is no doubt that my life was so enriched just by knowing him. The world will miss him as there is no-one quite like him. You have my sincere sympathy in this difficult time. As his friends, we are all so lucky to be able to have known him. It was a great privilege.
So sorry to hear of your loss our thoughts and prayers are with you.
We are so very sorry to hear of Garrett's passing. We hope that you find peace and comfort, within the ties of family and friends. Darcy and Carol Cronkhite
I don't think I've ever met a guy quite like Garrett. From the moment I met him, almost ten years ago in first year at U of L, I knew he was special. He had an enormous heart and cared so much for those around him. You felt connected to him as soon as you met him and he had a light about him that was just so powerful, it could draw anybody in. He was always surrounded by friends and had an amazing, contagious laugh. Though we only spent that first year living in the same section and hanging out with the same crowd, I always felt connected to Garrett. Occasionally he'd pop up with a funny comment or a warm birthday wish and immediately I was brought back in time to the best year of my life, with Garrett Rains a huge part of that. I haven't laid eyes on him in years and years and I certainly didn't expect our last hug to be the last. My heart is broken for his family - I miss him so much already and I have missed him from afar for almost nine years, I can't imagine the hole he'll leave in the lives of those who saw him evety day. I am so blessed and grateful to have known such a wonderful friend. My condolences to his loved ones - I know he loves you so much. ?

Every time I saw Garrett he had a twinkle in his eye and a grin on his face. While he may have left our world too young, he sure made a great impression while he was here! He will be missed.

Kelly and family: I was brought to tears and am so saddened to hear of your loss. I can't help but think of Garrett as that cute little boy sitting with a grin on his face, minding his own business but enjoying a little fun, sitting in Brandi's class. Such a pleasant young man, and you can certainly be proud of him for the person that he was. I hope you can find some kind of eventual peace in your hearts once again. Thinking of you.
I just wanted you to know how deeply saddened I was on your loss. I was proud to call Garrett my friend and I will miss him very much. We have lost one of the kindest and gentlest people I have ever had the privilege to know. I am feeling your pain and sorrow at this difficult time. You have my sincere sympathy. He will be missed by all that knew him.
