After a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease, JACK ROBERTS passed away peacefully in the early hours on Monday, November 4, 2019 at the age of 89 years.

Jack Roberts was born in Fort Saskatchewan, AB on May 17, 1930. He was the youngest of three boys born to Ella and David Roberts. He will be fondly remembered by his much loved wife Carole; daughters Melissa (Wally) Clarke, Lynn Wells, and Lori (Arthur) Lubin; four grandchildren, Steven Wells, Katelyn (Barry) Olsen, Leah Wells, and Keaton Lubin; and his great-grandchildren Liv Olsen and Kohler Olsen will miss him greatly. He loved and will be missed by his nieces and nephews Patti (Neil) Martin, Jane Roberts, Glynis Roberts, Cathy Parmeter, Michael Roberts, and Patrick Roberts.

After finishing university, Jack taught junior high school for 25 years in Calgary, Ghana, and Victoria, BC. Following his retirement, he had a successful career in real estate. His great interest in all things military led to long service with the Calgary Highlanders, achieving the rank of Major. He continued to read military history for the rest of his life (combining two passionate interests). Jack's love of aviation led to his obtaining a private pilot's license, and in later life, a life membership in the Windy West RC Flying Club, flying remotely controlled planes.

Jack and Carole travelled for many years in their motor home, exploring Arizona, California and many Canadian destinations. Jack loved a hand of bridge and looked forward to cribbage nights with Bob Clay, as well as with his grandchildren.

Jack had a zest for life and an ease with people that made them feel instantly comfortable. His hospitality was legendary and he loved his family and friends without reserve.

A Celebration of Jack's Life will be held at SOUTHMINSTER UNITED CHURCH, 1011 - 4 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Ruth Preston Schilk officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Parkinson Association of Alberta, Lethbridge Region, Box 333, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 3Y7 or a charity of your choice.

I was so sorry to read about Jack's passing. He was a good friend and a wonderful person at work and away from work. You couldn't find a kinder man - a true gentleman. My condolences to you Carol.

My family and I were very sad to hear of Jack's passing. He was a great part of my life and we have many fond memories of him. Certainly his smile and easy going nature will stay with me forever. Proud to have known him, and thankful for all he did for me over the course of 60+ years. He will be missed dearly.
