We were so sorry to learn that Frank had died. Over the years we appreciated Frank in so many ways. As a colleague at the U of L Frank was conscientious, effective, and supportive, especially with the U of L Faculty Association. If ULFA needed someone to do a job carefully and thoughtfully, Frank was the man. Aside from being a dedicated, proud and loving family man, he was also a congenial, hospitable and faithful friend over many years. It was an honour to have had him in our lives. Our sincere condolences to Judy and the rest of the family. We know your many fond memories of Frank will help in the days ahead.
Dear Judy, our thoughts are with you. I was very much was hoping to meet up with you and Frank again, reliving all the fond memories. I remember the 70 ties, when all of us were still in Calgary, the many visits in both directions when you moved to Lethbridge. And when we moved back to Europe, we still had the joy to visit you a few times, always one of the highlights of our trips. And one summer you did visit us in Graz, Austria, for a few days and actually looked after our house and pets afterwards for about three weeks whiel we were travelling. The distance did not allow allow us to meet as often as we would have wished, but our friendship continued. Thnak you for your friendship, and our best wishes that you can overcome this terrible loss. Yours, Ushi and Hermann
Dear Judy, and dear Greg, Doug and Susan: We were so sorry to read of Frank's death. We both have so many fond memories of him, and of your family. One of my earliest memories of Lethbridge, when we arrived in July 1980, was having a barbecue in your lovely back yard, and meeting you all. I came home from that evening thinking that life in Lethbridge was going to be good, with welccoming colleagues and friends. For many years, Frank was a mentor to Steve and me at work. Something new seemed to come up every week in my early years at the U of L, and I would go to Frank for advice, which he always generously and thoughtfully provided. It was Frank who encouraged me, after my first year here, to go back to school to do graduate work, and Frank who hired me back, and so launched my career here at U of L. I have always been grateful to him for his faith in me, and his encouragement over many years. We also enjoyed having Greg and Doug in classes over the years, and watching them and Susan grow up. Our thoughts are with you all. Shelly & Steve Wismath
Judy and Family I am sorry to hear of Frank's passing. He was a real asset to the Math Dept during its formative years. He was always a source of sound advice to me. In time the sadness will pass. Please accept my condolences.
Dear Aunt Judy Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this time. Uncle Frank was a wonderful and interesting man who had a zest for living. We have such fond memories of our far too brief times of being together. I look forward to seeing him again in heaven. We will pray that the Lord guides you as you ponder your future without him. May God comfort your heart with His peace. We love you, Diane
I am the current admin support for Mathematics & Computer Science, but many years ago when I worked in Political Science, your husband devised a program to help all admin supports do course evaluations. Until that time, we had the very onerous task of doing everything ourselves, even calculating response percentages. I often think of him when I do evaluations each semester, and give thanks that he started the university on the road to online evaluations and simplifying the process for us. I sincerely wish you the peace needed at this time.
Dear Judy. My sincere condolences on the loss of Frank. It will be a big adjustment for you but I am sure you will find pathways into a new experience of life. He would want you to go forward in a strong way. Will be thinking about you! Fondly, Mary Oordt mary.oordt@gmail.com
Frank spent many hours conscientiously working for ULFA. Sometimes editing me--as if grading exams--which he did very carefully and thoroughly. He was usually right--always clear headed, honest and courageous. It was an honor to work with him.
Dear Judy, Our deepest and most sincere condolences for the passing of Frank. Frank was a great colleague and his contribution to our department was outstanding. He will be missed by all of us. Hadi, On behalf of my colleagues at Math and CS department
