DONALD PATRICK SCHOEN, of Taber, beloved son of the late Joe and Rosemarie Schoen, passed away peacefully at St. Michael's Palliative Care Centre on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the age of 66 years. Don's journey into heaven did not begin alone; he was surrounded by love and support from his family directly at his side, including his loving daughters, Callie and Ash.
Don grew up in New Dayton and enjoyed living on the farm. His passion for travel took him to many places, such as Australia, Venezuela and Mexico, which all became like his second home. Over the last seven years, Don proved to be a fierce warrior in his fight against cancer. He lived his life to the fullest, and recently embarked on a fishing trip to Prince Rupert. He was looking forward to his new title of 'Grandpa Don.' His grandson will now have his own special angel watching over him.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Smuts, Gord Hoskins, and Donald's bourbon buddies for all of their support over the years.
