In the late 1960s, she met the love of her life, Warner. As they were a pow-wow family, they traveled extensively throughout pow-wow country, as well as across North America. She was an advocate for her nation and for women. She loved being a part of A.I.M., along with Warner. She had the privilege of marching with late Russel Means, the late Clyde Belcourt and late Dennis Banks. She was one of Prince Charles' personal ambassadors while at Calgary Stampede. She knew her history very well. She started a dance troop and travelled the world with her troop. Her biggest fan was Hank Williams, who they all performed for; he loved the show. She danced at the Sundance in 1983 and danced along her family for several years. She was a leader of the women and was a knowledge keeper to everyone who knew her. She had a passion of going to Hawaii on her birthday and always met her little group of friends.
We are thankful to everyone who reached out to send their condolences, a special thank you to Unit 68 at South Health Campus Hospital. Barbara will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

July 13th, 2023, I met and visited with my big sister Barbara, not knowing that was the last time I would see my beautiful and loving sister ?. We had a good visit. I will miss you, my dear sister Babra, as Auntie Marion called her. Rest easy until we meet again. Love you. ?
Mama Scout a woman of grace and integrity. I all I ever saw from her was love. When my parents passed away she told me that I was to now call her Mom or Aunty as she was taking me as her own daughter so I would never be alone. She gifted me with my childhood friends as brothers and sisters. Love you Mom Scout for all the love and acceptance you have shown
