Aaron and I were close friends in 1987 88 when we were young skateboarders. I hold fond memories of he and I spending hours at his Ross Glen house, in the basement, skateboarding during the long Medicine Hat winters. We also laughed, played music, drew pictures and were just great pals. I send my condolences to his family and anyone close to him. I'll never forget the times we shared.

Aaron was a friend from my time at The Empress hotel, in the early 2000s. We met in the dishpit and bonded over our mutual love of music. Aaron turned me on to artists like Frank Black, and Modest Mouse, two bands I still enjoy thanks to him. He had a quick wit and we laughed often. I'll always remember this one night when we went for a few after work drinks at a pub, where some jazz band was doing some very bad, very square take on jazz. We tried to be polite but we couldn't help ourselves and were soon laughing hysterically into our mugs. Fly high, Aaron, I hope you are at peace.

Aaron, at age 18, was already wise beyond his years and an incredibly kind and sensitive man. Andy has always been a big brother to me, but first, he was Aaron's big brother. Music was immensely important to all of us growing up, so I will never forget when Aaron introduced me to the Blind Reverend Gary Davis at a tough time in my life. "Twelve Gates To The City" changed my life, and all thanks to Aaron. How could someone so young be so deeply soulful? Aaron, it's your voice I hear when I listen to these lyrics, all these years later... "Oh, what a beautiful city, Twelve gates to the city, hallelujah. And it's oh! What a beautiful, oh! Oh Lord, what a beautiful city! Twelve gates to the city, hallelujah..."
