1938 - 2022 - MRS EDITH "EDIE" NANCY TAYLOR, of Lethbridge, beloved wife of Ken Taylor, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the age of 84 years.
Edie was survived by her children: Tracy Taylor, Alan (Christy) Taylor, Jim (Cyndil) Taylor, Derek (Lorna) Taylor, and Lana Lorincz and son-in-law Mel Rhodes; and her grandchildren: Braydon and Megan Giesbrecht, Harrison and Ava Taylor, Allison Taylor, Liam and Brennen Taylor, Dustan and Chad Leask, and Stewart and William Rhodes as well as numerous great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter Rhea Rhodes and grandson Andrew Lorincz.
Edie was born July 30, 1938 in Notikewin, Alberta to Tip Lafoy and Alice Lafoy. She worked as an electrologist, as well as at numerous clothing stores in Lethbridge. She loved fashion, and always strived to look her best. She loved to share her gift of music by singing and playing her guitar for friends and family.
Ken and Edie, along with their family, lived in Grand Prairie as well as Fort St. John for many years before moving to Lethbridge. They also enjoyed their vacation home in Yuma, Arizona for the past 26 years.
Ken and Edie were very involved in their church, until the time of Edie's illness, and she had faith in prayer.
She will be dearly missed as she made such an impact on every life she touched, in true Edie fashion.
A Celebration of Edie's Life will be held at ONE LIFE CHURCH, 501 - 40 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at 11:00 A.M.

Edie, you were one of a kind, truly a remarkable woman. I will miss your undeniably spark and strength. All my love to your beautiful family and all those who loved you.
Edie joined our LaFoy/Lafoy family ancestry group several years ago and was very excited to learn about the 125 plus LaFoy cousins she had and her family history and heritage. She was also able to learn more about her father and the circumstances of his death in Holland during the Second World War with the South Albertas (Tank Regiment). There he liberated the town of Bergen-Op-Zoom only to be KIA in action the next day when she was very young. Tip Orlando LaFoy is buried in the homeland of Edie's Great Grandfather Jacob Marinus LaFoy (Lavooij) who immigrated to New York in the 1840's with his father Dejinis Lavooij (Dennis LaFoy) and sisters. Edie was often commenting and always happy to learn something new about her LaFoy family. Sad to see her go ...
Tracy - I am so sorry to hear about your loss.
Condolences to Ken and all of Edie's family. We enjoyed being her neighbor for many years. Hugs and prayers to all. Ron and Lanai
