MARENA LARK MANGUM TELFER, beloved wife of James Oliver Telfer of Lethbridge, Alberta passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on September 3, 2021, at the age of 68 years.
MARENA LARK MANGUM TELFER, beloved wife of James Oliver Telfer of Lethbridge, Alberta passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on September 3, 2021, at the age of 68 years.
She fought a brave yet short battle with cancer, filled with dignity, strength, and humour.
Marena is the loving mother of Andrew Telfer (Lindsay) of Stirling, Alberta and Edward Telfer (Melissa) of Lethbridge, Alberta (and her dog, Dusty). She is survived by her loving husband James (Jim) Oliver Telfer, her brother Kenneth Ralph Mangum (Debbie) and sisters: Tanya Dell Liston (Garry), Ruth Phelps (Brad) and Phyllis Mangum. Marena is also survived by her five grandchildren Aiden, Elijah, Tiernan, Zack, and Cadence.
She is predeceased by her mother Vanola Mangum and her father Marvin Mangum.
Marena was born in Kearns, Utah on January 7, 1953, to Marvin and Vanola. She graduated from Panguitch High School in 1971 and married Jim on January 21, 1977 in Calgary, Alberta. Marena was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints holding many callings and roles within the church. She was also very active in family genealogy and could often be found pouring through microfiche and piecing together the family history. Marena had a huge heart and was always ready and willing to offer service to anyone in need. Her love for all animals was especially apparent when talking about her dogs over the years or her love of buffalo. She had a work ethic like no other, from driving her sons to early morning seminary, then working a full day, and then ensuring they made it to all their athletic endeavours as well as taking care of the household. Marena never failed to impress with her ability to handle all of it. She would always sacrifice anything for her family. From helping care for grandchildren while parents were working to assisting her boys any way she could when they were having tough times. Marena will forever be loved and missed by her family.

Dear Family, I will remember the New Year's Eve we all got together and watched a comedy show. So much laughter and Love. With Love & deepest sympathy. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:35, 37- 39
Andrew we are sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. Our Family sends our thoughts and prayers to you and your family. You will see her again. We send our love. John, Heather and Family
