Zita was predeceased by her loving husband Frank of 55 years; her parents Michael and Elizabeth Prus of Taber; and all her siblings: Elizabeth (Joe) Tomcala, Mary (Frank) Gadjdostik, Chuck Prus, Marketa Mcmillan, Anne (John) Hrycoy, Albin (Ellen) Prus.

Zita was born May 23rd, 1936 in Lestock, Saskatchewan. She later moved to Taber and worked on the family farm until she was old enough to go to work. Zita then worked in Lethbridge at General Motors and lived in a small basement suite with two other ladies whom she became best friends with. Zita used to go to many dances at the Trianon in Lethbridge where she met and fell in love with Frank. Zita loved to bowl and she would go bowling often while Frank would sit and watch her bowl. They were engaged Aug 6th, 1960 and married November 26th, 1960 then went on to have five children. Zita owned many businesses in her time. She loved to travel. Zita went many places in her younger years including Hawaii and an Alaskan Cruise. Zita enjoyed crocheting, making many Afghans, and baby outfits. Zita had a sweet tooth and loved to bake. From cookies to cakes to any type of square, it was heartwarming and fattening, always. Zita had a green thumb; her yard was always planted with beautiful flowers and her indoor houseplants were truly amazing. I still have many she gave me, they will always remind me of my mom, and I (Lezli) will cherish them more than ever. Zita enjoyed her word search books and playing scrabble with very dear and special sister-in-law Mary Dieser.

Special thanks to Dr. Johan Meyer, Nurse Mike, Dr. Tadros, Dr. Plotnyk, Dr. Waller, and everyone at St. Michael's Palliative Care Unit in Lethbridge. You were all so caring and sensitive to Mom. Also, the staff at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Homecare, and Homecare case manager Aimee Klassen.
