He also served as a director of the Alberta Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation for 27 years, serving as president or secretary. Stan was very proud to have the honor of attending six Supreme K of C Conventions with the first occurring in Miami Beach in 1975; where he was able to bring along the entire family and enjoy the Florida beaches and amusement parks.Besides being an active member of the Knights of Columbus, Stan was the charter president of the Brooks local of the Alberta Teacher’s Association. After retiring to Lethbridge in 1989, Stan spent many years volunteering for the church, condo association, Inter-Faith food bank and Heart-to-Heart visitations.Ever the Boy Scout, Stan enjoyed camping with his family. Summer vacations allowed for extended visits to BC or Manitoba to visit with family. A highlight for all was packing up the new station wagon and tent trailer and heading to the east coast of Canada in the summer of 1970. Always the teacher, the trip to the Maritimes was packed with many many education stops along the way. After retiring, Stan and Darie spent many winters in Arizona. While his son’s never picked up his love for fishing, son-in-law Alfred was more than happy to take him on many memorable fishing trips throughout BC.In lieu of flowers, Stan requests that donations be made to the Alberta Knights of Columbus Charitable Foundation, #4, 5570 - 47 Street Red Deer, AB T4N 1S1Prayers will be held on Friday, April 30 at 7:00pm. To Darie and the Turner family. It is with deep sadness that we hear of Stan's passing. He was a true friend and Bro. Knight. Under his leadership as State Deputy, I was so fortunate to have been a Grand Knight and District Deputy. Cathy and I shall cherish all the memories of attending many Knights of Columbus State conventions as well as the 100th Supreme Convention in New Haven, Conn in 1982. We so much enjoyed all our visits while in Arizona, and in Alberta whenever the opportunity arose. Darie, we share your loss and we pray for Stan's eternal reward. We shall continue to be in touch as we have in the past. Rest in Peace Stan!!!!

Darie: Sorry for your loss. May the wonderful memories you shared with Stan bring you comfort. God bless you and your family. Our deepest sympathy.

Zoria & Garry Noe, May 7, 2021

Our sincere sorrow to Darie and the Turner family on the death of Stan, a friend and Brother Knight. Sir Knight Stanley certainly epitomized what a Brother Knight of Columbus should be through his contributions to the Brooks Council #5116 and Lethbridge #1490. I was very privileged to have been elected to the State Board at the time Sir Knight Stanley assumed the position of State Deputy. His dedication to the State Council was served in the same excellence as his role as a teacher along with the four outstanding years as Alberta District Master. Our compliments to you Darie for all the support you gave him throughout his Knights of Columbus journey. Please know that Elaine and I will have you and your family in our prayers as you endure this difficult time. Peace and blessings to you all. Elaine & Danny Barth, P.S.D., F.V.S.M. State Ceremonial Chairman "There are many rooms in my Father's House. If it were not so I would have told you". We believe Sir Knight Stan has a beautiful suite.

I'm sad to say goodbye to our Uncle Stan. He was a kind man with a great smile and even keel. He was all about family and would be so proud of you all that stood with Auntie Darie in these extremely hard times. My memories are still so clear - Travel trailer, blow up bear, turquoise ring. Silly songs, spontaneous giggles, goofy stories. Visits in Brandon, Winnipeg, Brooks, and Lethbridge. Weather I was six or thirty six always the serious stare down, about nothing, that ultimately ended in gentle smiles between us. Farwell Uncle Stachu, sleep well. You did an amazing job with your time here and have a fabulous family to carry on in your path.

So very sorry to hear this sad news. Uncle Stan was very much like his brother, Joe, (my father). Yes, he had a full resume filled with good works but these were accomplished because of his relationships not in spite of them. Looking forward to the next family reunion when we'll be more able to reminisce.

Joe Turner, April 30, 2021

Condolences to Auntie Darie and family.
