Vanden Berg, Johanna

JOHANNA VANDEN BERG, beloved wife of Stephen Vanden Berg of Lethbridge, passed away at Fairmont Extendicare on January 30, 2018 at the age of 93 years.

Johanna is survived by her daughter Carol Schuld and her children Jon (Lorien), Beth, and Jill (Randy) Sneep; her son Jim (Joan) Vanden Berg and their children Jason (Emily) and Curtis (Leah); and her son Mark (Lorelei) Vanden Berg and their children Sydney and Maddy.

She was predeceased by her sons Arthur and Norman; parents Roelof and Catherine Vos; sisters Irene and Alice, and brothers John, Ed and Ben.

Johanna was born January 27, 1925 on the family farm south of Burdett, AB. After attending school in Highfield and Foremost, she moved to Lethbridge and worked as a waitress. On June 6, 1946, she married Stephen and they raised a family on a farm north of Foremost. When the family had grown, they began traveling and spent 11 years as volunteers at Rehoboth School in New Mexico. The retirement years were spent in Lethbridge. Johanna will be remembered for her generosity and kindness.

A Public Graveside Service will be held at HIGHFIELD CEMETERY on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. with Doctor Cameron Fraser officiating.

A Memorial Service will follow at MARANATHA CHRISTIAN REFORMED CHURCH, 260 McGill Blvd. West, Lethbridge, AB at 1:00 P.M. with Doctor Cameron Fraser officiating.
