Vervoort, Wilhelmina

WILHELMINA VERVOORT, beloved wife of Guy Vervoort of Lethbridge, passed away at St. Michael's Health Centre on Monday, December 31, 2018 at the age of 81 years.

She is the loving mother of four sons: Guy Vervoort of Lethbridge, Ron (Corinne) Vervoort of Grimshaw, Denis (Mary-Ann) Vervoort of Lethbridge County, and Richard (Joanie) Vervoort of Okotoks; along with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and three sisters: Johan (Mary) Van Gaal of Lucan, ON, Gerrit (Betty) Van Gaal of Lethbridge, Annie Van Lieshout of Strathory, ON, Grad (Annie) Van Gaal of Lethbridge, Mary Van Geel of Lucan, ON and Irma (Bill) Sleegers of London, ON as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother Martina Van Kessel, biological father Herman Van Gaal, stepfather Henry Megens and siblings Jean and John.

Wilma was born March 28, 1937 in the Netherlands. She came to Canada in 1953 with her family when she was 16. She married Guy in 1958 and they resided in Lethbridge ever since. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Prayer Service at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, AB on Friday, January 4, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. with Deacon Bill Young officiating.

A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405-12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Kevin Tumback, Celebrant.

Interment to follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
