Seslija, Virginia

December 24, 2023

It is with extreme sadness that we share the passing of our beautiful Mom, Grandma, Wife, and friend to many. VIRGINIA LEE SESLIJA passed away with her loving family by her side, on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at the age of 79 years.

Virginia leaves to mourn her loving husband Rob, son Duane (Maria), daughter Lee-Anne (Jerry), granddaughter Darian (Michael), sister Joyce, and special friend Garry.

She was predeceased by both her parents and brother Billy.

Mom was born on October 14, 1944 to William and Ella Tefs, in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She lived in many locations throughout Manitoba and Alberta, before residing in Elkford, B.C., where she worked for the RCMP and was an active member of her community for 41 years.

Virginia was an amazing woman who loved to sing, dance, laugh, and make and share good food with family and friends. Besides her family, her biggest passion in life was gardening. She could be found on any given day either tending the soil in one of her many gardens, planters or shrubs, or in her chair reading seed catalogues, choosing the years beauty or bounty. In her younger years, you could find her on the ballfield where she enjoyed playing many games with friends. She loved life, the spring, the first sighting of the years’ robins, and seeing the first blooms and sprouts of her handiwork.

We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at CNPHCC, CRH ICU, STARS and Foothills CICU for Mom’s care.

A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart Association (canadianheart.ca)
