ANTHONY "TONY" VOORT was peacefully reunited with his "sweetie", the late Sharon Ann Voort (nee Stotyn), on April 13, 2016, surrounded by the love of his three children: Nancy Metz (nee Voort), Kathy Voort (Keith) and David Voort.

Besides his three children, Tony is lovingly remembered by his three grandchildren: Tannon Calderwood, Sera Voort-Weisgerber and Skyla Metz, who he loved to spend time with, finding interest in what they each enjoyed, be it the love of dance, science, camping, or just spending time telling his stories. He will be greatly missed by his brothers Bill (Brenda)Voort, Joe (Heather) Voort, John (Mary Lee) Voort and his sister Hennie Vander Linden; dearly missed by his mother-in-law Lena Stotyn, several sisters and brothers-in-law, numerous family members including many nieces and nephews, his small group of the greatest friends a man could ask for as well as his friends at work that he considered family.

Tony was well known and respected in the Lethbridge community and worked as a Superintendent for Ward Bros. Construction; a company that he spoke of with highest regard, right up to the day he was admitted to the Chinook Regional Hospital.

His carpentry skills and talents will be forever encased in numerous builds and projects all over the city including assisting in the most recent project, the restoration of the Japanese gardens. There, and in his home as well as the homes of his children, family members and friends, will be where you will see how exceptionally talented his wood-working skills were.

An avid camper and well-travelled, he enjoyed the outdoors the most, especially with his family. He took pleasure in the restoration of old cars and tinkering with ideas of creations in his shop; a past time he shared with his son. He was always available to assist with any requests from family and friends; from creating bird houses and feeders to building cabinets, dressers and more. As well, he was a big part of his church family and helped out when he could in any way.

He was a great man who worked hard all his life and for everyone he loved. He will be missed, with words we cannot express, by all who had met him though briefly or for a lifetime.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at ST. ANDREW'S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 1818 - 5th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on Monday, April 18, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Hugh Jack officiating.

A Private Family Interment will be held prior to the Service of Remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael's Health Centre, Palliative Care Unit, 1400 - 9th Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 4V5 or Compassion Canada, P.O. Box 5591, London, ON, N6A 5G8.

Our hearts go out to all of the family. May you find comfort in your memories. We will miss Tony's wonderful sense of humour, his teasing of our boys about their pizza making skills from the cruise and his infectious smile and never ending stories. We were always laughing when we were around Tony. We are comforted only in knowing Tony is with Sharon in Gods presence free of all pain.
