DONALD ALAN WELSH, beloved husband of Winnie Welsh of Milk River, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the Milk River Hospital on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at the age of 66 years.

He is the loving father of Charene (Ryan) Mattson, Timmery (Warren) Welsh, Jason (Randi) Welsh and Erica (Michael) Thompson. He is also the loving stepfather to Thomas (Tanya) McIntosh, Krystal (Steve) Hoytos and Aaron McIntosh. Donald was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren: Evan & Aidan Mattson (Charene), Olivia Tulloch (Timmery), Lawson & Kyler Welsh (Jason), and Kira & Kiana Hoytos (Krystal), plus numerous grand-dogs.

He is also survived by his siblings: Edward (Diane) Welsh, Wayne (Nighean) Welsh, Richard (Marlene) Welsh, Karen (Eric) Craig, Marilyn (Terry) MacDonald and Cheryl (Archie) Mark, and all of their families.

He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth & Irene Welsh.

Donald was born and raised on a farm by Milk River and continued to cultivate that farm throughout his life, proud to be a third-generation farmer and pass it on to his son. He had a passion for agriculture, nature, animals, travel, being active, family, and all things New York Yankees and Calgary Flames. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as being an incredible husband, father, grandfather, and brother. His love and support will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be determined in the future by his family members. In lieu of flowers, Donald requested that donations be sent to the Milk River Health Centre (Box 90, Milk River, AB, T0K 1M0).

Keith Donovan, April 3, 2020

Our condolences to Winnie and family at this time. Always enjoyed dealing with Don through the years. Thanks to him for nominating me as a director on Border Seed Cleaning Coop. Don, you told me just to come for coffee but I was glad to accept the nomination. I always enjoyed listening to your excellent experiences and you would always stop seeding or harvest to load us up with seed and never complained. RIP Don.
