My deepest heartfelt condolences to Dee and family. I had the pleasure of working with Karen for the last 3 1/2 years. She was so kind and such a great friend, we always found time for a daily chat even if it lasted only a few minutes. I know how much she loved Dee and my heart truly breaks for her but I know even in death Karen will still be watching over her angel. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, she will be dearly missed by all at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. RIP my friend. <3

I met Karen when I was part of the Fort Macleod Preschool Board, and she became the teacher's assistant. She was a wonderful addition to our preschool, and very well liked by everyone. Her calm and kind way with the children was always appreciated, and the children all loved her. I am very sorry to hear about her death, my thoughts are with all of you.

I met Karen when I took at summer position at the Visitor Information Centre in Fort Macleod in 2009. I remember going into the job in sort of an odd and uncomfortable place in my life. Karen became a dear friend and a mentor for me over that summer, and I will be forever grateful for all of her wonderful advice and caring personality. Her words of wisdom are something that has stayed with me to this day. She had an amazing smile and an infectious laugh, and I will miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends at this time. Rest in Peace Karen.

My sincere condolences to Karen's family. She and I were classmates in the Olds College Animal Health program. Karen was always so full of energy, always smiling and so much fun to be around. Gone way too soon. Sincerely, Barb Bjorkeland.

Please accept my deepest sympathies at your loss of a very special daughter, sister, mother and friend. Karen was a classmate at Olds College, and she was always a lot of fun to be with. I am afraid I lost touch with her sometime in the late 80's, as I was moving quite a lot, and was no longer travelling through Picture Butte, where I had visited a few times. I did see her in Fort Macleod a few times as I also had family there. She will be greatly missed.

To Karen's Family-- Karen and I lost touch after first, she left the College in Lethbridge, and then, I retired from the ESL program, but before that she and I spent many hours working together and chit-chatting amicably. I was so saddened to read about her passing and send my sincerest sympathy to all of you. She was a truly lovely person and I know she worked so hard to be the best of mothers, sisters, daughters and aunts.
